As the National Security Technology & Engineering Lead, it’s up to you to lead joint teams to find tangible ways to overcome our clients’ engaging and complex challenges with innovative approaches. Whether you’re leading organisation-wide technology transformation or you’re applying new disruptive technologies to help revolutionise client approaches – you’ll ensure everything you do makes a lasting impact.

In this role, you’ll use your extensive experience and deep understanding of national security, architecture, IT products & services, cloud platforms, engineering approaches, and consulting skills to manage the definition, design and delivery of technology-enabled business transformation.  By providing technical and engineering leadership and coaching, you’ll show our clients how to apply a variety of methodologies to their business.

Your duties will include:

  • Responsibility for leading all technology and engineering aspects of transformation programmes
  • Defining architectures and engineering approaches, taking into account legacy and current day platforms including cloud, within national security clients
  • Advancing the knowledge and exploitation of technology within client organisations
  • Working with the business transformation team to ensure coherent programme definition and delivery
  • Providing technical and engineering leadership and coaching to staff and client
  • Showing clients how to apply a variety of methodologies to their business
  • Line management of technology and engineering workstreams.

What we're looking for

You will have:

  • A minimum of a relevant graduate degree from an internationally recognised top tier university
  • Full ISC2 CISSP accreditation or equivalent internationally recognised membership
  • A reputation internationally as an expert in technology transformation in the national security sector
  • A deep understanding of the threat actors and mitigations for technology risks demonstrated through industry recognised certifications in forensics, malware investigations and ethical hacking.
  • An ability to develop long-term strategic relationships with customers, partners and industry leaders
  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience, and a proven track record, of delivering highly complex programmes and projects across public and private sectors, including working within tier 1 national security clients across multiple national and international communities developing, designing and implementing organisational strategies and capabilities
  • A keenness for learning and keeping pace with technology and ways of working, demonstrated through major cloud platform (minimum of AWS professional certifications or equivalent) and SaFe Agilist certifications
  • Experience of leading the design & architecture of multi-million AU$ cyber security capabilities, including managing operational risk and assurance within the national security environment
  • Held a senior role within a leading global professional services firm, with board level engagement, delivering outstanding client work and with excellent consulting skills
  • Hands-on-experience working in roles across all phases of the portfolio, programme and project lifecycles and the ability to align them to methodologies such as Systems Engineering, Waterfall and Agile
  • Experience resolving cross-function issues that cut across business, technology and finance.

In addition, you must:

  • Hold a current TOP SECRET Positive Vetting (TS PV) security clearance with the Australian government
  • Be prepared to travel internationally for extensive periods.
