PA consulting is leading the Net Zero transition for asset intensive, regulated businesses across the full range of UK utilities. We are shaping a team of industry leading analytics consultants that will reimagine the value chain for the Energy & Utility  industries. The right candidate will use their extensive technical knowledge to identify, develop and implement new ways of unlocking value from advanced analytics required to achieve this transition.

How You'll Contribute:

·       Lead projects across the Data Science lifecycle from discovery to implementation and scaling to deliver benefits to clients across Energy & Utility sectors

·       Lead, mentor and develop multi-disciplinary (technical and consulting) teams to deliver innovative projects exceeding client expectations

·       Design and define the data science development workflows from coding and architecture best practices, data strategy, to ML training and Inference platforms

·       Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, both technical and non-technical and help translate deep ML knowledge to stakeholders.

·       Work closely with wider Analytics and Digital teams to develop and deliver Data Science training curriculum internally Support our multi-disciplinary sector teams in Business Development, including responding to bids, developing proposals and go-to-market propositions

·       Keep up to date with the latest developments in ML space, including emerging publications, and incorporate these in our best practices

·       Mentor and grow Junior data scientists in the team on both DS, modeling and software engineering skills

What You'll Bring:

·       Advanced degree (PHD, MS) in relevant field

·       7+ years of experience in building, training and deployment of wide range of data science and modelling (techniques, including classical ML and deep-learning approaches

·       Strong experience with ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch etc

·       Strong proficiency in Python coding and knowledge of other programming languages (e.g. R, HTML/CSS, etc.)

·       Extensive hands-on experience in developing and deploying data science solutions on major Cloud technologies (AWS preferred)

·       Experience collaborating with cross functional teams and stakeholders to evaluate and pursue new ML opportunities

·       Ability to confidently convey benefits of Analytics and data-driven approaches to non-technical audiences

·       Experience in working in Utilities or Asset-driven organisations
