Internally this role title will be Digital Stream Chief of Staff.

The Digital Stream represents one of the largest consulting and practitioner populations within PA, numbering over 500 staff in 2021. It covers Digital, Architecture and Digital Trust & Cyber Security. Over the next 2-3 years, the Digital Stream will grow to 1,300+ staff and an experienced proactive Chief of Staff is needed to help ensure the operational side of the Digital Stream is comprehensively delivered in line with that growth.

Lead Digital Operations 

Act as principal gateway in terms of focus and prioritisation into the Digital Stream Ops Lead, ensuring they are aware of what needs their attention.

Build strong and collaborative working relationships with the Digital Stream Commercial Finance Manager, Recruitment and Resource Management functions, to support the Digital Stream leadership in the effective delivery of Stream operations.  

Take ownership of specific areas of the Digital Stream delivery, ensuring that such areas are reported against effectively and delivered.

Maintain the Digital Stream Strategy

1.   Coordinate the development and delivery of the Digital Stream Strategy across the Digital SteerCo, identifying priority areas, or likely impact affecting delivery for remediation.

2.   Work with the Stream Capability Leads to ensure that consistent plans are produced and maintained so that all parts of the Digital Stream are moving forward as one.

3.   Compile regular progress reports in relation to our initiatives  

4.   Support the annual PA strategic planning and budgeting cycle  

5.   Be accountable for the delivery of select Digital Stream change programmes and where relevant lead/support initiatives identified in the Stream Strategy.  

Support Digital Stream governance

1.   Manage the weekly and monthly Stream meeting cycles:  

2.   Lead the Preparation and distribution of the agenda, papers and actions of the Digital Senior Leadership and Ops meetings  

3.   Own the weekly Digital resourcing/ casting meetings  

4.   Establish and run monthly show and tell sessions to share knowledge and insights within the team  

5.   Oversee and track progress of any Ingenuity sprints within the Stream   

6.   Commercial disciplines - work with the Commercial Finance Manager to ensure commercial disciplines are being adhered to e.g., Unresolved Hours, Job Not Set Up, WIP and Debt Management etc  

7.   Work closely with the Comms and Engagement Manager to develop regular communications to the Stream.   

Leadership Coaching

1.   Work with the Digital Stream to coordinate and ensure that we drive productive sessions and help to build effective team working across the Digital Leadership   

2.   Lead the preparation of content for Leadership Away Days  

3.   Ensure that the outcomes are effectively captured, and actions disseminated and tracked.  

Oversee the Digital People Team

1.   Work with the Digital Comms and Engagement Manager to develop and agree the outcomes of our Employee Value Proposition  

2.   Work with the Digital Recruitment Lead to establish and track progress against our annual/ monthly recruitment targets, making interventions and undertaking initiatives to improve the recruitment outcomes  

3.   Support the onboarding and integration process for Digital new recruits  

4.   Support the Digital Stream leadership with strategic talent development reviews and monthly performance management reviews.  

   Support the management of OTC colleagues:  

1.   Work closely with the Digital Resourcing Managers to ensure smooth running of the weekly DCF resourcing/ casting call  

2.   Oversee the management of OTC delivery  


The ideal candidate will be experienced in holding a Chief of Staff role in an organisation which is fast moving, client led, and has strong operational requirements with respect managing the day to day running of its business.

Excellent self-organisation, prioritisation, communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills are a must, as is proactivity, a “completer finisher” mindset, and the ability to map complex organisational domain areas into clear plans for execution.
