Oakdoor™ by PA Consulting is disrupting the cyber security world of cross domain with the next generation of data diodes.
We are bringing best-in-class technology to the most important networks in the world. Application engineering is all about bringing technology solutions to some of the most challenging problems our clients face, so you can expect to be working on some of the most interesting problems in the cyber security domain.
We need you to help our customers understand cross-domain solutions, support the integration of our products, and feedback suggestions, ideas and issues to the development teams. You will be working across Government, Defence & Security, Critical National Infrastructure, Financial Services and many more sectors.
You will be based within the UK, ordinarily from home, with the ability to travel to clients within the M4 corridor as required, plus regular visits to your colleagues in the development team in Cambridge.
You will either currently hold, or be willing obtain, UK security clearance.

Ideally we would expect you will have a combination of:
Essential technical skills:
· Software development background
· Linux and or Windows sys admin skills – knowing how to debug network applications
· Understanding of networks, networking technology and cyber security principles
Desirable technical skills:
· Experience with languages such as Python, C++
· Familiar with Container (Docker) technology
· Familiar with CI and automation
· Familiar with Cloud vendors (AWS, Azure, Google)
· A desire to push for continuous improvement
· Knowledge or experience of a specific area of interest, for example: cloud, embedded software, IoT, system administration, sensors, robotics, VR/AR
Essential behavioural skills:
· Excellent written and verbal communication
· Excellent time management and organisation
· Direct experience of working with clients
· The versatility and flexibility to apply your skills to new challenges and solve unfamiliar problems
· The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, through pairing and independently
Degree educated, or qualified by experience, in a relevant subject area.
