PA. Bringing Ingenuity to Life

PA is looking to hire an experienced CTO to help drive the growth of our Digital business, taking clients on the journey from traditional and legacy platforms to new digital experiences of the future. PA is searching for a technical leader, with a history of building and leading scaled Digital Engineering, Cloud & Devops capability, strategic vision development and execution, and hands-on delivery and a track record of transformation and execution.

Role Description and Objectives

Leading the growth of PA’s internal engineering and capability. Building and leading in developing the internal technical capability of the PA Digital engineering and devops team, creating a community of experienced and passionate people to deliver transformational client engagements. 

Providing leadership and quality assurance across Engineering and Devops engagement across PA The individual will build diverse teams to deliver ingenious digital and technology solutions, across the end-to-end software delivery lifecycle, utilising Agile, DevOps and modern engineering practices, enabled by major cloud (AWS / GCP / Azure), and other platforms, tools and technologies.   They will be the most senior technical person in the EMEA region for PA.

Leading the technology and engineering strategy Developing and executing a technology and engineering strategy to support the wide range of current and future technical engagements.  Looking across demand and industry movement, considering the use of accelerators and ensuring consistency across assignments.  

Promoting PA as a technology innovator through channels such as speaking at conferences and organising tech meet-ups.  Leading conversations and advising both internal and client conversations with respect to the direction that technologies are taking.  Keeping up to date with developments in technology that could improve PA and client strategy

Mentoring engineering talent within PA and senior clients The individual will be a people person, passionate about people development, and able to build connections quickly and influence others.  They will continue to create a working environment where everyone can achieve their potential.   The individual will be an adept speaker - convincing, authoritative, humble, human.

Supporting business development for large and strategic opportunities Collaborating with the wider Digital leadership team to identify and support business development across digital engineering and develops engagements

An adept leader and advisor - acting as an authentic "north star" for our people and clients.  Help at the highest (CxO) levels to reach right decision.

Professional Experience

An expert in Digitisation: End-to-end delivery of future digitally enabled customer experiences. Experience of delivering the transition from traditional and legacy to new platforms.  Experience in how to configure and pivot a scaled engineering capability to deliver tactical needs and pivot to future needs.

A people person: A leader of technical and non-technical people. Evidence of building high performing cross functional teams, coaching and people development. Able to build connections quickly and influence others

A technical expert, with a history of hands on delivery: Experience across industry of building modern, scalable technology platforms, built with the customer at the heart and underpinned by data

  • Experience of the end-to-end software delivery lifecycle, utilising Agile, DevOps and modern engineering practices, enabled by major cloud (AWS / GCP / Azure), and other platforms, tools and technologies
  • Experience of working with CIOs/CTOs/CDOs to deliver enterprise DevOps strategies, which encompass modern techniques such Continuous Deployment and PAAS
  • Experience with identifying, prioritising and investing in key, scaled, reusable enablers of technical delivery
  • Experience with activity/risk mapping and mitigation across technical, operational, people and third party concerns. 

A track record of transformation and execution: Evidence of working across the leadership spectrum – from defining and executing strategy, to hands-on delivery of transformational programmes and change. Experience in navigating a challenging delivery environment, including governance, risk management and driving the achievement of outcomes

A visible industry profile: A strong personal brand and industry network. An influential thinker that makes an impact in the market and is able to inspire PA’s clients and its people

Have deep strategic growth/organisational and operational experience in scaling a regional engineering capability.  Shaping a high performing engineering culture, through recruitment, performance, empowerment, incentives and training.

Location
